Despite our resilience and expertise, Black women remain underrepresented in leadership. According to the Women in the Workplace report by McKinsey & LeanIn (2022), Black women make up 7% of the U.S. population but hold only 1.6% of executive roles in Fortune 500 companies. This stark disparity underscores the systemic hurdles Black women face, including limited access to mentorship, sponsorship, and opportunities for advancement. Moreover, a Harvard Business Review study revealed that Black women are 2.5 times more likely than white women to aspire to leadership but often lack the same organizational support to achieve it.
